270mm of mineral wool, cross-laid — the depth current building regulations guidance points to for a cold loft. Where a Ealing property has a room in the roof and depth is constrained, we use 40mm multifoil at rafter level instead.
Do I need planning permission in Ealing?
No. Loft insulation, boarding and loft ladders are all improvement works well outside planning control, in Ealing as everywhere else.
