Who we are
Loft Insulation London ("we", "us") operates the website insulationloft.co.uk and provides loft insulation and related services in Greater London and the surrounding counties. For the purposes of data protection law we are the data controller for the information described below.
You can reach us by email at info@insulationloft.co.uk or by phone on 07960 485880.
What information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and carry out work you have asked for:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address and the postcode or address of the property, supplied by you through our enquiry forms, by email or over the phone.
- Enquiry details — what you have told us about your loft, the service you are interested in and your property type.
- Survey and job records — measurements, notes and photographs taken during a survey or installation, kept so we can quote accurately and honour any guarantee.
- Technical data — standard web server logs recording IP address, browser type and pages requested, retained for security and diagnostics.
We do not knowingly collect special category data, and we do not collect information from children.
Our lawful basis for using it
Where you have asked us for a quote or booked work, we process your details to take steps at your request prior to entering a contract, and then to perform that contract. Where we keep records of completed work for guarantee and accounting purposes, we rely on our legitimate interests and on legal obligations relating to business records. Where a form asks for your consent to be contacted, that consent is the basis for the contact and you can withdraw it at any time.
The forms on this site
Our quote request form is processed on our own hosting and the contents are emailed directly to us. Our contact page uses an embedded form provided by Cognito Forms, a third-party form processor; information you enter there is transmitted to and stored by Cognito Forms as our processor before reaching us. Both forms include a hidden anti-spam field, which is never shown to you and never contains your data.
Spam protection on our forms
Our quote request form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which helps us tell real enquiries from automated ones. To do that, reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information from your device — including your IP address — and sends it to Google for analysis. It runs invisibly in the background rather than asking you to identify traffic lights. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We rely on our legitimate interest in preventing abuse of the form as the lawful basis for this. Every form also carries a hidden anti-spam field which is never shown to you and never contains any of your data.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. Three third-party services are embedded on specific pages and may set cookies or receive your IP address when those pages load: the Cognito Forms embed on the contact page, Google Maps on the contact and area pages, and Google reCAPTCHA on the quote page. Google Fonts is used to serve typefaces. Each of these operates under its own privacy policy. If you would rather they did not load, most browsers allow you to block third-party content on a per-site basis — the forms will still work.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing. We share it only with the service providers who make our business function — our website host, our email provider, the form processor named above and our accountants — and only to the extent they need it. Where the law requires disclosure, for example to HMRC or in response to a lawful request, we will comply.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to completed work — quotes, invoices, survey notes and product documentation — are kept for six years, which is the period we may need them for tax and for any claim under our guarantee. Server logs are rotated within a few weeks.
Where your information is held
Our website hosting is located in the United Kingdom. Some of the third-party services described above may process data outside the UK; where they do, they are required to provide protection equivalent to UK standards through approved transfer mechanisms.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask us to delete information where there is no longer a good reason for us to keep it, to object to or restrict our use of it in certain circumstances, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@insulationloft.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's independent data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We review this notice periodically and will update the date at the top whenever it changes. Material changes affecting how we use information you have already given us will be notified to you directly where we hold contact details for you.
A note on unsolicited calls
We do not cold-call, and we do not buy marketing lists. If you receive a call claiming to be from us and you have not contacted us first, it is not us. Insulation is a sector with a persistent cold-calling problem, and we would rather you were sceptical.
